Living Bhakti
In-depth Devotional Study for Everyday Life
What
Living Bhakti is a program designed to weave Yogic teachings into daily life.
The teachings are only as good as they are alive in your life. This program is a study of Bhakti (devotional) Yoga and how to live it everyday.
Each Living Bhakti semester consists of a cohort and one-on-one sessions. The group energy is vital for enlivening conversations and private sessions are critical for specialized work. There is homework and CEU’s available for RYTs through Yoga Alliance.
Areas of Focus
There’s no value in digging shallow wells in a hundred places. Decide on one place and dig deep. Even if you encounter a rock, use dynamite and keep going down. If you leave that to dig another well, all the first effort is wasted and there is no proof you won’t hit rock again. ”―Sri S. Satchidananda
Living Bhakti is a dynamic program with a semester-by-semester focused study!

How?
FAQ:
Why is this training so long?
After completing my 200 and 300 hour teacher trainings, I felt the profound need for more time. The content is so intricate and dense and it calls for more attention and time to integrate. In addition, I am interested in facilitating the growth of friendships and community in the cohort… and guess what? That takes time too.
How much homework will there be?
You can expect around 4.5-hours of homework and self-guided assignments per month. Examples of these assignments can be reading and reflection, writing and planning your yoga sequence, sketching and thinking through drawing, etc.
What is the Yoga Alliance?
“Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community, with over 7,000 Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) and more than 100,000 Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) as of April 2020. We foster and support the high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable teaching of yoga.” (Yoga Alliance website)
Registration is optional.
Do I need be certified in order to teach other people?
In some cases you may be asked for credentials. An example would be at a gym, where you could be asked to submit your certifications of yoga training, CPR, first aid, and insurance. In some professions, continuing education is a requirement for the upkeep of licensure; if this is the case, please be sure to check with your accrediting organization.
How long have you been teaching?
The teacher archetype is ever present and prominent in my life. I enjoy teaching and always find ways to slip into that stream. My favorite moments happen when the point makes it across, the a-ha! It’s a real joy, natural instinct, and gift.
In my 20’s I was a corporate trainer in the restaurant industry. In my 30’s I taught adult painting courses and trained local government workers in new software implementation. Now in my 40’s I’m teaching art and yoga. You can read more about my education in my bio.
What if I can’t make all the sessions?
Life happens. If you can’t make a session, you can utilize your monthly private sessions to make it up. If you’re interested in completing the 100-hours for your certificate, I will be asking for make-up assignments. If you’re not interested, that’s fine too—you’re here to receive what you have space for!
Will you be offering another session?
I plan to! Please join my email list (below) to be notified of all future offerings.
